Is Chisholm having a revival? Or what? After all, she died in 2005 & that was quite a while after she ran for president, the first Black woman to do so. I believe she was the first Black woman in Congress as well. Anyway, here is this poster on a mailbox up the block.

Interesting to note that she has a strong Barbadian connection; i.e. mother, father etc plus Guyanese. This especially interested me because a guy that worked for me in my last corporate stint - just ending last February - was from Barbados and we've become pretty good friends and spent a lot of time talking about the island. BTW, just on Tuesday they formally announced that they are now a republic and no longer honor the Queen as their sovereign. Additionally, Rhianna is from Barbados and my friend, Rod, told me that she does a lot of charity work for island kids.

I didn't know Chisholm had that connection, although I did see that Barbados had thrown off the British Empire. Good for them & good for Rhianna.
